Innovative treatment concepts

I am Professor Dr. Dr. Andreas Pfützner, head of the Pfützner Science & Health Institute (PSHI Praxis GmbH) and owner of my private practice in Mainz.

Our institute specializes in the research and treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. For over 30 years, we have been developing innovative and particularly effective treatment concepts for people with diabetes and also for the frequently associated late complications of both diseases on the basis of extensive clinical studies.

Our special individualized therapies

in addition to personalized diabetes therapy

Innovative treatment for the regeneration of insulin production

Innovative therapy for the treatment of secondary diabetes diseases

Innovative therapy for the treatment of atherosclerosis

Type 1 diabetes:
An autoimmune disease

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. Viral infections can lead to the development of type 1 diabetes in people with a genetic predisposition.

Type 1 diabetes is caused by a malfunction of the immune system in which the insulin-producing cells are destroyed by the body itself.

Type 2 diabetes:
more than just a blood sugar disorder

Type 2 diabetes is much more than a disorder of the blood sugar balance. The elevated blood sugar level is much more than just a symptom of this complex disease that affects the entire body.

Despite good blood sugar control, serious secondary diseases such as kidney, eye and nerve damage or vascular problems often persist. Our findings show that a pure focus on blood sugar can even increase the risk of complications. Our aim is to take a holistic view of the disease and to provide you with a new and better quality of life through our customized therapy.

Our solution:
Individualized therapy through phenotyping

Every person is unique and so is their disease. We therefore rely on a precise diagnosis that records the individual disease characteristics (phenotypes) of each patient.

All patients – both overweight and slim people – require different treatment approaches. A standard therapy often does not do people justice. With our method, we can often halt the progression of the disease and in some cases even reverse it.

Our mission:
Your well-being and protection from complications

Our aim is to stabilize the diabetes and prevent the development of serious secondary complications.

We want you to lead to a long, healthy life without diabetes-related restrictions. Our personalized therapy focuses on you and your needs and offers a real alternative to conventional guidelines, which often only focus on blood sugar.

This is how our program works

Initial consultation:
You tell me about your expectations and wishes so that I can better understand and get to know you.

Individual diagnostics:
We use comprehensive laboratory and physical examinations to identify your specific disease characteristics.

Personalized therapy plan:
Based on the results of your diagnostics, we develop an individually tailored therapy.

Continuous support for your success

Our therapy is initially carried out over three months and the results are then comprehensively reviewed. We analyze progress through repeated biomarker tests and adjust your treatment accordingly if necessary. To ensure lasting improvement, we offer regular support every 3 – 6 months. You decide whether you would like to be monitored in person or by telemedicine during this time.

Your advantages at a glance
